Why should community groups contract with ITPM for drug training?

The answer is simple:Be a proactive community in drug prevention...not a reactive community to a drug tragedy.

New research clearly shows that active community involvement in drug awareness helps protect young people from the onset of drug use and other behavior. The most effective education and prevention programs explicitly recognize the realities and consequences of substance abuse and its devastating impact on individuals, families, and communities. Breaking through the silence of denial opens up the possibilities of change.

Schools alone can not be expected to prevent substance abuse: families and communities MUST be involved in partnerships with schools, so that education can lead to prevention.

While there is no ideal blueprint for community drug education programs, we have learned that certain elements are essential.
