Why
do schools contract with ITPM for drug training?
The answer is simple: It's all about our children!
The hope for a drug-free society rests on our ability to keep kids from
getting into drugs and alcohol.
This is what we know: An individual who
reaches age 21 without smoking, using drugs, or abusing alcohol, is
virtually certain never to do so. In fact, any delay in drug use is
beneficial as every single drug-free day equals more time to develop
social competence and resistance skills.
We must provide those on the front lines with the tools they need to
help children succeed.
The Institute for Training
Professionals and Management (ITPM), not only provides these tools, but actively
involves the whole community so that everyone who touches the life of a
young person, including their peers, presents a consistent prevention
message.
While there is no ideal blueprint for school-based drug education
programs, we have learned that certain elements are essential.
Credible information about
the dangers of drugs, and their immediate effects, is paramount. Active
involvement of the entire school-community —teachers, staff, students, and
parents—in these programs strengthens and reinforces the lifesaving
message of drug prevention.
ITPM offers your school a variety of comprehensive drug educational programs, all with a clear and consistent social message —student drug and alcohol use is harmful, unacceptable, and illegal. The
involvement of schools, families, and communities is critical for the
success of these programs.
Thank you for your commitment to a drug-free society.
We cannot give up.
